NYC Big Bold Vox Box

I just got my NYC Big Bold Vox Box in the mail. I always love trying out new makeup, I get sick of using the same products EVERY day, and when you're a stay at home mom, you find little things like new eyeliner and mascara can really make your day. I did my eyeshadow like I usually do and then went to apply my NYC Big Bold liquid eyeliner. It took a second for me to get comfortable with using it because it kind of feels like using a marker on your eyes, but it actually works really well. You can make it as thin or thick as you like AND mine lasted all day…running around with two boys. That alone is impressive. The mascara on the other hand was not impressive. I have to admit, I only use waterproof, and this was not waterproof, so that was my first dislike. My second dislike was that the picture of Demi made the mascara look FLAWLESS, and it made my eyelashes look thin and limp…even with my eyelash curler. I love my mascara to make my eyelashes thick and long, and this NYC Big Bold mascara just did not do the trick. I gladly passed it along to my mom, who isn't as picky when it comes to mascara. All in all, I would DEFINITELY buy the eyeliner, but definitely NOT buy the mascara. (pictured below is the product, and me with my regular makeup on, plus the eyeliner, but not the mascara.) #NYCBigBold

Spring VoxBox Product Reviews

OK, My Spring VoxBox came in, and I am just now getting around to reviewing it…that's what happens when you have TWO boys under the age of 5…it tends to get a little busy. SO, the first product, the SOFTLIPS cube, is freaking amazing. When i opened it up, I thought it was going to be one of those chopsticks that you have to use your finger to put it on, but its this cute little rounded cube that you can smooth all over your lips, and then run. I LOVE IT. I am a chapstick/lipgloss fanatic, so anything that will keep my lips hydrated and shiny is PERFECT. It fits perfectly in my purse and it's easy to find. SECOND PRODUCT: The Rimmel ScandalEyes Retroglam Mascara. Lemme tell ya, I am SUPER picky when it comes to mascara. I have been using the same brand and style for the last 5 years, because any other product I try just doesn't measure up, either in price or in quality. SO i was very skeptical when it came to trying this mascara, especially because its not waterproof, and for a mommy of two, that's usually a BIG requirement in mascara, alas, I did try it, and I did LOVE IT surprisingly enough. It's not clumpy, it makes your eyelashes pop, and it comes off easy, but doesn't run. SOLD! THIRD: The Nivea Skin Firming Hydration lotion. I'm usually all about good smelling fancy shmancy lotion, but I've noticed that it usually doesn't keep my skin hydrated. Not only does this Nivea lotion smell clean and fresh, but it keeps my hands from cracking with all the hand washing that I have to do during the day. It's also great for when you get out of the shower. It locks in all that moisture and makes you smell fantastic! I got a big bottle to keep at home, and I keep the little bottle in my purse. MUST HAVE! The fourth item: the Everlasting French Manicure….unfortunately…sucked. Maybe for someone who doesn't have as much wear and tear on their hands it might work, but within the hour of applying these little plastic beauties, half of them had fallen off. FIFTH: The Playtex Sport Tampons…SINCE I am breastfeeding my son, I still have yet to start my period! YAY! I am not going to apologize for that! haha. BUT I did give these to my mom, who is a very active school teacher AND drill team coach. She is constantly on the go, and just got back from drill team summer camp. She said these things held up like a charm! She was constantly running practices, and having to run across campus to go back and forth from class to class, and never once had a mishap! So, looks like I will be trying these out as soon as Aunt Flo comes to town again! For the most part, these products rocked! I will definitely be continuing to use them!

So…I haven't posted in a LONG time, but here we go: I am now a mom to TWO BOYS. 4 & 7 months. While, it is chaotic, I am loving every single moment…even if I do say boo boo and tummy and forget to take a shower for a couple days in a row…it is still the most amazing experience I have had in my short little life. The hard part right now is trying to decide when and WHERE I will go back to work…or school…who knows??? My fiancee and I are building a house!! SO EXCITED about that, which should be done around the end of june…hopefully, so I'm sure I will have PLENTY to fill my plate then…better cut this short as little brother is learning to crawl and has already destroyed the room and all the laundry that I just folded…until next time

A Day At The Dam

Yesterday me and the girls decided that it would be nice to spend some time outside since we're locked up in a no window office all day long so we went to 1st dam, ordered a pizza and played silly games. One of the games was called "Would You Rather?" and one of the chalenges was that we had to act out whatever the other girls said for 90 seconds. They came up with some pretty random things like "Grow like a flower" and "act like bacon in a pan".

Imitating a woman in labor

Drinking like a baby from a bottle

and...
Making fishy noises

We stayed till sun down and had a fun time except for the goose that kept scaring us and the bathrooms with no soap :)
